The Highest Mainland Mountain - Mount Kosciuszko 2228 m in Snowy Mountains, New South Wales

But in reality The Highest Point on Australian territory is Mawson's Peak on Heard Island - 4100 kilometres south-west of Perth. Mawson's Peak is 2745 metres high and forms the summit of an active volcano Big Ben - Australia's only active volcano.

 There are even higher mountains in the Australian Antarctic Territory - Mt McClintock is 3490m high.

Largest Monolith  - Uluru  - Ayers Rock is massive sandstone rock which has area of 3,3 km², and  is 345 m high.

The Tallest Waterfall - Wallaman Falls - 305 m West of Ingham. Wollomombi Waterfall is sometimes referred as Australia's tallest waterfall. It depends on if you are counting single drop or numerous ledges etc. But the tallest single-drop waterfall – 160m is Ellenborough Falls north of Taree

The Largest Lake - Lake Eyre (salt lake) 9500 km²

The Largest Constructed Reservoir – Lake Gordon in Tasmania has capacity of 12450 million m3

45 countries are Parties to the Antarctic Treaty (1961).Australia is one of the seven claimants - claims territory in Antarctica  (Australian Antarctic Territory Acceptance Act 1933).And The Australian Antarctic Territory Act 1954 is the basis for Australian Antarctic Territory law. It applies Commonwealth Laws and Ordinances, some Australian Capital Territory laws and the criminal laws of the Jervis Bay Territory.
